Frequently asked questions
Do we need special hardware?
No. DockSnap runs on the phones and tablets your team already has — including older devices, because it installs from the browser rather than the App Store.
Do we need a WMS?
No. DockSnap works standalone. If you have a WMS, keep using it — DockSnap sits alongside as your photo evidence layer, tagged by the same references.
How long does setup take?
Most warehouses are capturing the same day — usually within the hour. There's no integration project: sign up, set a password, add the icon to a couple of devices, go.
Which barcode formats work?
Code 128 and GS1-128 — which covers UPS and FedEx Ground tracking labels, USPS packages, LTL PRO stickers, and SSCC pallet labels — plus Code 39, ITF, QR, and Data Matrix. Retail product barcodes (UPC/EAN) are deliberately ignored so a scan near product packaging can't grab the wrong number.
Is our data secure?
Photos are stored encrypted in the cloud, scoped to your company — your team sees only your library. Sharing is explicit: nothing is visible to a client or carrier unless you send it.
How long are photos kept?
For the life of your account. A freight claim can surface months after the truck has gone, so DockSnap never auto-deletes your capture history.
My set-password link expired
Links expire after 48 hours. Use Forgot password on the login page, ask your admin to send a reset from the Team page, or email support@docksnap.io.
The barcode scanner won't open
The scanner uses your browser's camera permission: check the site settings for app.docksnap.io in Safari/Chrome and set Camera to Allow, then reload. (Regular photo capture uses your device's own camera app, so it isn't affected by this setting.)
The "Add to Home Screen" banner disappeared
Dismissing it hides it on that device, but you don't need it — the manual install steps work any time.
